Where is Stilte massage and nature services located?
The treatment studio where massage and other treatments are provided is located in a white courtyard building at Antti Chydeniuksen katu 97 in Kokkola. Street-side parking is available in front of the house.
Do I need to pay when booking?
You can also pay on-site using wellness benefits, card, or cash. If you prefer to pay on arrival, select Pay on site/Maksa paikan päällä at checkout.
How long a massage session should I book?
The appropriate treatment length depends on the extent of the issue being treated, the area involved, and individual factors. If you've never had a massage before, I recommend starting with a 45 or 60 minute session. If you want a larger area treated, it's best to reserve more time. You can also contact us in advance to discuss your needs so we can decide together on a suitable session length.
Does massage hurt?
Yes and no. When tight or already painful muscles are treated, massage may feel slightly uncomfortable. Usually this is more of a "pleasant discomfort" rather than actual pain. It's important to communicate about pressure and possible discomfort during the treatment. Pain is not a sign of effective massage and can even hinder the treatment if muscles tense up in response. If it feels painful, pressure can be reduced. Stronger pressure can also be used on request if it fits the purpose.
What areas are treated?
The treated area depends on your concerns and preferences. Some pampering treatments are designed for specific areas only, such as the back or legs. At the start of the session, we'll briefly discuss your situation and wishes, and if needed assess mobility, pain, or tension to help identify the root cause. The treatment is then targeted accordingly. I will explain the treatment plan beforehand and communicate any relevant observations during the session.
Can I come for massage while pregnant?
Yes, and it can even be beneficial. During pregnancy, ligaments loosen and posture changes, which may cause discomfort that massage can help relieve. Treatments are always adapted to the stage of pregnancy. Face-down massage is safe as long as it feels comfortable for you; otherwise, side-lying massage supported with pillows can be used.
Can I request a quiet massage without conversation?
Absolutely. You can mention this preference in the booking notes or upon arrival. Please note that I may still need to ask occasional treatment-related questions during the session.
In which languages are services offered?
Services are provided in Finnish and English. Written communication is also available in Swedish and Dutch.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes. Gift cards are available at the studio for both massage and nature services, and they make a thoughtful gift for anyone who appreciates relaxation and meaningful experiences
Where is Stilte hieronta- ja luontopalvelut located?
Stilte's equipment rental point is located in a red infantrymen cabin in Kokkola, in the Hickarö area, and operates on a self-service basis. Courses and canoe trips are mainly organized from the rental location.
Are the nature services suitable for beginners?
Yes. Services are always planned according to the group and participants' experience level. For public excursions, the required skill level is specified on the product page if prior experience is needed. For example, swimming ability is required for canoe trips, and self-service rental of water equipment requires some previous experience with paddling or moving on water.
Do I need to pay when booking?
Equipment rentals must be paid at the time of booking. Other services can also be paid on-site using wellness benefits, card, or cash. Simply select Pay on site/Maksa paikan päällä at checkout.
I'd like to book an experience for a group — where can I find detailed descriptions and pricing?
Group activities are generally tailored to each group's needs. For this reason, the website mainly provides examples of available services, while the final program and quote are designed based on factors such as group size, preferred activities, and available time.
You can contact us via the Groups page or Contact form with your preferred timing, program duration, and group size, and I will suggest the most suitable service options.
Can meals be included in nature services?
Yes. A popular dining option for groups is the restaurant Hickarö Resort, located next to Stilte's equipment rental point, but meals or coffee breaks can also be incorporated directly into excursions. Special dietary needs are taken into account. Some public excursions already include a meal or refreshment break, this will always be mentioned separately in the product description.
